MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION CHOOSES FSL FOR MAJOR LANDSCAPING UPGRADES

Seth Hurwitz—co-owner of the 9:30 Club and music promoter for the Merriweather Post Pavilion—has commissioned Five Seasons Landscaping to transform the grounds of this famous music venue. As part of the project, FSL has installed three horticultural sculptures, including the Grass Maze, shown above.

We've also added many fine landscaping features to enhance the experience of visiting the Pavilion. You can see some of our work below:

DAVID SILVERMAN SCULPTURE FEATURED AT U.S. BOTANIC GARDEN

A sculpture by David Silverman was one of only 43 sculptures chosen from about 2,000 submissions to be part of an exhibit at the U.S. Botanic Garden.

The exhibit, "Flora: Growing Inspirations," runs from May 23-October 12. It is located on the Conservatory Terrace, East Gallery of the U.S. Botanic Garden.

"Hoya" sculpture

"Hoya 1"—clay and white slip.

This is a ceramic abstraction of the Hoya coronaria blossom. Hoyas bloom in umbels, clusters of flowers grouped on one stem. For this piece, I focused on just one. Having collected hoya plants for more than thirty years and being a ceramic sculptor, I merged both passions in this creation.

Mr. Silverman, a member of the Washington Sculptors Group, is currently a docent at the U.S. Botanic Garden, working there every weekend for the last three or four months.
